Founded in 1997, AfriGIS is a leader in the Geographic information and Communication solutions industries. The AfriGIS product range is revolutionising the business environment by growing business solutions for a greener future. AfriGIS provides state-of-the-art solutions which facilitate and incorporate the delivery of quality, cost-effective solutions to our clients. Our rich geographical data offering support an innovative suite of mobile and web applications, location based services and customised products and solutions.
We supply geographical data, customised mobile and web applications and location-based business consulting. We are a leading and preferred supplier of spatial and other datasets to prominent public and private sector clients. AfriGIS datasets are used to provide leading business and location-based intelligence services, products and solutions. Our product range and solutions are utilised by over 200 government, parastatal and corporate clients.
AfriGIS has four offices, two in South Africa, our head office in Pretoria, Gauteng and a Cape Town office. European operations are managed from Dublin, Ireland and a product development office in Dhaka, Bangladesh
Corporate Social Investment
AfriGIS firmly and passionately believes in community upliftment and involvement. Making the world a better place is a passion for us. Over the past 15 years AfriGIS has experienced substantial growth and similarly our community initiatives have grown and expanded since 1997.
On the Social Investment front, AfriGIS has been involved in a number of projects and institutions close to our heart and home, including social responsibility and sponsorships, as well as enterprise development in collaboration with SEDSA. AfriGIS manages its own internship programme, since 2000 and recently introduced the AfriGIS Language initiative; “A re buweng seTswana – Let’s speak Setswana” (http://www.afrigis.co.za/languages/).
In 2012 AfriGIS launched a new learner ship, in association with CTU Training Solutions. The programme introduces learners to computer software, different languages, techniques and technologies used in the software development process. Upon completion of the course, learners earn their Further Education and Training (FET) National Certificate: IT Systems Development, NQF level 5.
AfriGIS is a Level 4 Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) contributor and listed as a Value Adding Supplier (VAS) & Enterprise Development Beneficiary, as rated by the Express Verification Services (EVS)
