New Business Development Manager

Introduction

AfriGIS is seeking a technically astute and strategically minded New Business Development Manager to drive growth across local and international markets. This is a high-impact role that requires a deep understanding of solution selling across multiple industries, with a strong emphasis on technical solutions. The ideal candidate is a consultative sales professional with the ability to uncover customer challenges and sell tailored technology-driven solutions.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in consultative, solution-based selling across industries
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field
  • Track record of selling technical solutions into local and international markets
  • Demonstrated success building C-level relationships and influencing key decision-makers
  • Strong commercial acumen with consistent achievement of new business revenue targets
  • A background in data analytics, or location-intelligence environments will be advantageous

Main Responsibilities

  • Identify and engage with prospective clients to assess their needs and position tailored solutions
  • Lead end-to-end business development cycles, from lead qualification through to scoping, proposal development, and deal closure
  • Act as a trusted advisor by leveraging technical knowledge to conduct discovery conversations, value assessments, and client workshops
  • Maintain an active understanding of data trends, competitive solutions, and customer ecosystems
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless execution of new business development initiatives
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Data, and Software Development teams to influence product development roadmaps based on market intelligence
  • Collaborate with Marketing on go-to-market strategies, campaign targeting, and thought leadership opportunities
  • Track, analyse, and report on pipeline metrics and business development KPIs using CRM tools
  • Ensure full alignment between customer expectations and internal delivery capabilities
