Over the past year Resolve Water, powered by AfriGIS, has been developing an intelligence capability focused on translating water system stress into practical insight for finance and industry. Through this work, and through engagement with financial institutions, development finance partners and large water users, a clearer picture is beginning to emerge of how water system conditions are affecting operational stability and financial exposure in South Africa’s real economy.
One theme is becoming increasingly clear: water risk in South Africa is increasingly structural rather than event driven. Climate variability, infrastructure fragility, catchment pressure and institutional constraints are beginning to affect operational stability, investment decisions and the resilience of water-dependent sectors.
We would like to invite you to a small industry session where we will share insights emerging from this work and discuss how spatial intelligence can help organisations better understand their exposure.
The session will explore:
- How water system stress is translating into operational and financial risk
- Emerging patterns across sectors including agriculture, mining and industry
- The role of spatial intelligence in diagnosing exposure and informing resilience responses
- A demonstration of how Resolve Water is currently progressing
- Opportunities for pilot applications with financial institutions and large water users
